There are several adhesion test that are usually industry sensitive and with specific analytical devices for the use in evaluating UV lamp curing. Typically they all have a common denominator which revolves around either a simple scratch test or a pull release tape test.

While the quality of a properly manufactured UV Lamp is important to performance, the UV Lamp life is only as good as the UV system design that it is placed in. Quality designed UV systems typically will offer 1000 hours of curable lamp life however everything is application specific and overall UV system design efficiency is critical to UV lamp life.

UV lamp warranties vary depending on a variety of items such as WPI or TOL for instance. Typical warranty for an average system can be as much as 1000 hours.

An Ozone free UV lamp is made specifically so that it does not produce ozone.

Standard UV lamps can be modified to ignite/burn different materials placed in the lamp during the filling process but is rarely ever needed as photo initiators are based around standard UV lamps. The term Doping is also used as a means of suggesting modifications of the UV lamp formula.
