The Sterilight R-Can S410RL-HO Compatible Generic Replacement UVC Light Bulb is a 45 watts UV bulb that has a four pin on a single end base. With ceramic as its base material, the germicidal water treatment bulb has a wavelength range of 254nm. The light bulb has a length of 20.08 inches and an average lifespan of 10,000 hours.
This method of water treatment requires no handling of chemicals and does not need any specialized storage. There is no change in odor, taste and pH or the chemistry of water, which is why this is a preferred method of treatment from chemicals and their byproducts. It is established that UV light at the wavelength of 254nm can kill harmful microorganisms such as E.coli, giardia and cryptosporidium that can cause harm.
