The Sterilight R-CAN S810RL Replacement UVC Light Bulb is a four-pin stepped on a single end 38 Watts germicidal water treatment bulb. The replacement UVC light bulb has a total length of 31.89 inches and an arc length of 28.9 inches. The lamp has a voltage of 90V and a wattage of 38 Watts. The ceramic bulb has a rated life of 12,000 hours after which we recommend that you replace the bulb for better lamp performance.

Researchers believe that using CureUV’s germicidal UVC system may have a lethal effect on bacteria, protozoa, molds, viruses, and other harmful pathogens. The water treatment bulb produces a peak UV output of 253.7 nm. This wavelength destroys the genetic structure of the microorganisms and makes the water that passes through it absolutely safe for consumption.

Do I need shatterproof coating?

Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. These applications include but are not limited to food processing and medical institutions. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
