In order for your S12Q-PA germicidal water system to work effectively, the quartz sleeve must be completely clear and free of debris. A foggy or dirty quartz sleeve can significantly attenuate the power of your UVC bulb, resulting in substantially less sterilizing power. A good way to think about it is that if you have trouble seeing through the sleeve, UVC light will likely have trouble passing through it. We recommend cleaning your quartz sleeve regularly, but a certain type of fog can occur even with regular cleaning. If the sleeve cannot get completely clear, we strongly recommend that you replace it to optimize your UVC Water purification system's performance.
