The Trojan UV 650657 UV Germicidal Water Treatment Lamp is a 100% equivalent replacement UV lamp for Trojan UV Technologies Model 650657 Water Treatment Germicidal Bulb.

This lamp makes use of UV-C light to inactivate and kill bacteria, molds, protozoa, viruses and yeasts. People are of the opinion that this system provides a safe solution against microorganisms such as giardia and cryptosporidium that are considered to be chlorine resistant. UV light bulb such as this one emits energy at 254 nm wavelength and this energy reacts photo-chemically with the genetics of the microorganisms.

The germicidal water treatment bulb comes with a shatterproof coating that protects the lamp during damage. The coating also keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit. This results in easy disposal of glass if it shatters and renders it easy to operate the system. The UV lamp starts instantly and makes use of a coil filament that operates hot.
