TUV17W / G17T8 Germicidal UV Light Bulb

Our CureUV brand TUV17W / G17T8 Replacement UVC Light Bulb is 17 watts and 100% compatible with germicidal OEM Water sterilization filters, UV sanitizers, and water purifiers. This lamp also uses UV-C light to inactivate and kill bacteria, molds, protozoa, viruses, and yeasts. This replacement germicidal bulb comes with a G13 medium bi-pin base on both ends used for water purification and has an average lifespan of 10,000 hours. The fixture is high quality with a low mercury dosage to meet environmental demands.

12-month worry-free operation and germ sterilizing power. After 12 months of operation, the light may still be visible through the bulb but its germ-killing ability quickly diminishes. Remember to wear proper eye, face, and skin protection before exposing yourself to UV light.

This ultraviolet purification lamp is instant starting and utilizes a coil filament, which operates hot. This bulb is available with a shatterproof coating that in case of damage keeps the lamp glass from falling into the unit where is installed. This results in an easy way to dispose of glass if it shatters. You can select this shatterproof option above.

Do I need shatterproof coating?

Although shatterproof coating can lower the intensity of the UV-C bulb by as much as 15%, it is recommended for applications in which it is crucial to avoid potential glass breakage at all costs. These applications include but are not limited to food processing and medical institutions. However, if glass breakage would be inconvenient but not catastrophic, skipping the costly shatterproof coating is quite alright. After all, we do not use shatterproof coating with our glasses and plates at home.
