The Ushio MHL-13 is a medium-pressure metal-halide lamp utilized across various industries, such as UV curing, photolithography for printed circuit boards, and industrial graphic arts processing.

The USHIO MHL series metal halide lamps feature an inner bulb containing mercury, scandium, and various metal halides that generate intense light output. When the high arc discharge temperature excites the halides, they evaporate and separate into atoms, which emit specific ultraviolet wavelengths. The 365 nm mercury line is still present, though reduced in intensity. The blend of these metal halides produces the necessary UV wavelengths for applications like photopolymer curing, multi-spectrum processing, and diazo film exposure.
