The Wedeco - XLR-20 UV Light Bulb For Germicidal Water Treatment is a four pin UV bulb that has wattage of 270 watts. With a lamp length of 59.52 inch and a wavelength range of 254 nm, the germicidal water treatment bulb has ceramic as its base material and an average lifespan of 10,000 hours.
This wavelength region is considered as maximum germicidal effectiveness and is highly fatal to microorganisms such as bacteria, virus, protozoa and other pathogens. The genetic material of the microorganism is deactivated when germicidal UV light passes through them and makes them incapable of multiplying. Researchers are of the opinion that this method of sterilizing water is a purely physical process.
