Philips TL100W/01-FS72 UVB Narrowband Bulb - 100 Watts - 69.75 Inches 

The Philips TL100W/01-FS72 is a high-output, 100-watt UVB-Narrowband bulb. Measuring 69.75″ end-to-end, this 6-foot bulb emits light with a 311 nm peak wavelength and is dimensionally interchangeable with FS72T12 bulbs. It is suitable for converting older UVB-Broadband or PUVA devices to UVB-Narrowband functionality.

Over 400 independent clinical studies have demonstrated that UVB Narrowband TL lamps are both safer and more effective than other lamps in their category. This is due to their emission of a precise waveband within the 'B' range of the UV spectrum (290 to 315 nm), specifically between 305 and 315 nm, peaking at 311 nm—the optimal wavelength for treating psoriasis. This focused wavelength allows for more efficient treatment with shorter exposure times, which helps minimize side effects like skin redness and itching. These qualities make the lamps ideal for phototherapy applications, particularly for conditions like psoriasis and vitiligo. The narrow band’s controllable dosage makes these lamps suitable for home treatment.

Important for Older Devices: For Philips bulb batches from around 2003/2004, the "FS72" part of the model number may not appear directly after "TL100W/01." To identify these bulbs, look for a small "FS72" elsewhere on the etch stamp. This labeling issue was later resolved.
